Groundwater samples

DPP uses the Geoprobe Screenpoint groundwater sampling system to obtain temporary in-situ groundwater samples from unconsolidated materials at a fraction of the cost of installing permanent monitoring wells.

Wire-wound, stainless steel screens or disposable PVC screens are used to obtain high-integrity groundwater samples from one discrete interval. The samplers are advanced to depth using direct push technology, the interface sample collected through a sealed screen and then retrieved. The length of screen exposed can be varied to suit sampling requirements and also allows for fast recharge from the formation.

A grout plug at the base of the screen allows bottom-up grouting as the screen and rods are extracted from the borehole.

Screenpoint advantages

  • Fast, efficient and highly cost effective groundwater samples
  • Can be used to determine optimum location for permanent monitoring wells.
  • High-integrity interface samples from discrete intervals
  • No contaminated waste
